I hope I know what I'm doing

Today, I told my boss that I'm staying.

Can you believe it? If I weren't me, and I didn't know all that I had put into making this decision, I wouldn't believe that I actually decided to stay and not move away. Cuz, I was pretty set on leaving. I remember thinking that there was nothing my boss could say to get me to stay. I was wrong.

That doesn't mean my life has to stay at a stand-still the next two years. I'm looking into an online masters degree and am making sure that an online degree won't hurt my chances of getting into a PhD program when I finally leave here. Cuz, I'm thinking that I'd like to be a college professor someday. When I told my boss this, he was very supportive...then smirked and said that in two years he'll make me another offer I can't refuse. I've gotta say that I'm extremely relieved that I won't have to go through this process again for two more years!

And, no, my decision doesn't have anything to do with Anthony coming in to the office recently! (My boss actually asked me this!) I made my decision to stay earlier this week, before Anthony showed up, and waited to tell my boss today just to be mean. Yes, I'm a brat. He deserved it, though. (smirk)

And, yes, my decision had a lot to do with the monthly stack of homemade tortillas my boss promised. I mean, really, you have to try these someday! Yummy!

In other news: I have a new cell phone. It's red and really cool. Oh, and it's a picture phone. I like it a lot. I hated my old phone and have put off upgrading it until I knew what I was doing with my life. My phone number is, of course, the same. :)

That's it really. Thanks, everyone, for your support and well-wishes!

I'm happy for you! I know that you were having a tough time making this decision, and it's nice to know that you have figured it out. I was a little shocked because I thought for sure that you were leaving, but I guess I was wrong. I expect you to let me try these homemade tortillas next time I come to visit. :)

Well I am glad to see you staying for the next two years. That means two more years we can get together for dinner. YEAH! And I think that you will have to have a mexican dinner party to show off your newly acquired tortillas. What do you think?!

So was it the tortillas that convinced you?

But hey, hooray for Julie!

Well, we are glad that you are staying. It's good to have you around.

On another note, I know that you disabled the comments on your post just prior to this one, but I wanted to ask something. So when you were looking on the internet at work, were your knees touching? *wink, wink* :)

Apropos of nothing, I just got an email from Borders saying that the last Sword of Truth novel was out.

It's safe for you to read the series now!

Aly, I was pretty sure I was leaving, too. Oh well. I guess we can be wrong every so often, eh? Of course I'll let you try a tortilla, maybe even two. Probably not more. :)

Melissa, I'm glad we'll be able to still get together, too! Hmmm. A mexican party is a good idea. I'll have to have my boss make an extra large batch of tortillas.

Madman, no. However, they're a nice bonus. Oh, and I've read 7 or 8 of the Sword of Truth books already and really liked them. Glad that the last one is out, though. Eventually I'll get back to ready them. Thanks for the update.

Jason, yes, our knees were touching. :)

Cardine, I had a lot of fun last night - thanks!!

I love the title of your post.

Don't we all... don't we all.... sigh....

Yay! I'm excited you are staying. Mainly so I have a place to stay during Shakespeare, just kidding. Or am I? I really love having you nearby plus maybe in two years I'll have my act together and then we can move together unless we're both married or something.

Cassie, you can always stay at my house during Shakespeare, FYI.

Cassie, speaking of USF, have you heard from Tracy about reserving a spot? I haven't. Maybe I should email her and let her know I'll be around and am planning on attending all the shows. AND, I think it'd be great if we moved somewhere together in two years. Start thinking about where. AND, we need to get together and decide on vacation plans for next year. Should we invite our mothers?
