Surrendering

In case you haven't noticed, I'm not a very trendy gal.

I wear clothes that are classics - my style has been around since the early part of this millennium, if not longer.

My hair, though it changes length and color regularly, has never been styled like the "Rachel", the duck tail (thankfully!), or any of the other trendy styles throughout time.

I don't watch So You Think You Can Dance, The Office, or American Idol. (Though I've heard all of these shows are impressive. And, I AM trendy enough to watch ANTM!)

I don't have a facebook page or myspace account, nor do I twitter/tweet/whatever.

Blogging is about as trendy as I get, and even it has become pretty passe compared to facebook and twitter.

So, against character, I've gone and made my blog trendy (or at least trendier) by giving it a cute layout. At least, I think it's cute. I'm really into purple lately. I have a purple purse, my two favorite shirts and my favorite skirt are purple, I wear purple eye shadow (but not when wearing the purple shirts - I do understand the art of understatement), and now my blog is purple.

I like it. It isn't too trendy/cutsie. Just enough, in my opinion.

Anyway, happy Friday! I hope you have a great weekend!

Your blog looks great. As you as you like it, who cares? (I need to take that advice myself). I love the purple and the multi-colored plaid. Good choice.

Ooooh...fancy! I like it. I thought about trying to make my blog trendier, but decided it was too much trouble to reload all of the sidebar things. I also like purple lately, though I only have one purple shirt...but it is my favorite. :)

I too think that the "new" look fits you perfectly! Good choice in backgrounds. Isn't it fun to change your background?!

Wow! I thought I had the wrong blog! Very trendy, pert, pazzazzi. Obviously I'm not trendy with those words.

I must admit that I would not have labeled changing your background to purple as trendy. But I did think it was cute. And I fully support your choice to be classy instead of trendy. Classy is always better.

You made a good choice in backgrounds. It looks nice!

I love the background. I love how the wallpaper doesn't stick when I scroll through the screen. I am partially through a revamping of my blog, as well, but I'm afraid that mine won't be nearly as cool as your argyle.

Missy, that is definitely advice I need to remember. I'm not a total people pleaser, but at times I tend to care a little too much what people think about me. That said, I'm glad you like the design. *smile*

Kiera, thanks! One of the reasons I've put off using one of these premade layouts was the thought of having to reload my sidebar. However, it used my sidebar settings automatically (except the poll on my other blog)! I had copied the html from my blog onto a Word document before I deleted it, just in case, but then didn't even need it. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be.

Melissa, yes, it was a lot of fun to change my background. And, using one of these premade layouts was a ton easier than what I was doing before and a lot cuter! I got to the site from your blog, so thank you!

Book, I'm so not trendy with words, either! I got teased this weekend for using the word "hip"! Kind of ironic, eh? *smmile*

Sar, I don't think changing the background to purple was what was trendy. The trendy thing was using a premade layout to kind of jazz up (again, not a very trendy phrase) my blog. I'm glad you like it, though. And, I totally agree that I'd rather be class instead of trendy. (Oh, and thanks for commenting!)

Sarah, thanks for your vote of approval!

Cardine, I know, I prefer the wallpaper to move along with my scrolling, too. I can't wait to see your blog changes and am sure that it will be awesome!

when I saw the title, I knew it would be about your background. I waited a long time to do it to, but it is kind of fun to choose, don't you think? And I've always liked your hair. I think its funny you still watch antm, even though you missed the last season I watched and I missed the last one you watched. I might start again....hmm.
